by John Owen Nwachukwu · Daily PostManchester United icon, Paul Scholes has unequivocally declared his desire to receive his 2011/12 Premier League medal following Manchester City’s guilty verdict on financial misconduct charges.
The Premier League released an official announcement on Tuesday, establishing that Manchester City engaged in substantial violations spanning a nine-year period from 2009/10 through 2017/18.

Scholes’ former colleague, Wayne Rooney articulated his reservations about accepting the Premier League medal from the 2011/12 campaign, during which Manchester United was defeated by Manchester City on goal differential.
Although Rooney maintains that Manchester United was not the rightful Premier League champion that season, Scholes contends that the medal should be awarded to the Red Devils.
The retired Manchester United midfielder characterized himself as a ‘greedy bastard’ and posted on his Instagram account, “Keep hearing ex-teammates saying they want trophies taking off them but they don’t want their medals… F*ck that. I’m a greedy bastard. I want my medal.”
The disciplinary measures against Manchester City remain to be determined. Following the international recess, Manchester City will compete against Liverpool at Anfield, where they are anticipated to encounter an unfavorable atmosphere.
