Burna Boy replies those criticising him for splashing N9bn on luxury car
by Sunny Green Itodo · Daily PostGrammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has reacted to the criticisms over his recent purchase of a custom 1-of-1 Venuum Widebody Bugatti Chiron reportedly worth 9 billion naira.
Burna Boy has been under heavy criticisms after the purchase was announced, with many berating him for spending extravagantly on “vain things” instead of investing or giving to charity.
Critics also berated him for importing the vehicle into the country, stressing that Nigeria doesn’t have good roads for such exotic automobiles.
While performing at the Afronation concert in Portugal on Friday night, Burna Boy addressed his critics in a freestyle.
“I buy Bugatti, dem ask which road I go drive am? No be today we dey do road like Julius Berger,” he freestyles.
Recall that Burna Boy made headlines last year after socialite Sophia Egbueje accused him of reneging on his promise to buy her a Lamborgini in exchange for intimacy.
Burna Boy didn’t confirm nor deny her claims but instead mocked her for “shouting” over a Lamborgini on his song ‘No Do.’
Sophia Egbueje later announced that she has bought the Lamborgini herself.
The controversy which strained the duo’s relationship was widely publicised.
