A video showing a woman assaulting a man at a Haidilao restaurant in Changsha, Hunan province in China, has gone viral on social media

According to Taiwanese media outlet SETN, the fight broke out when the woman, a transgender Internet celebrity named Jiang Yan (姜颜), was having dinner with her friends.

A drunken stranger at an adjacent table suddenly came over and began hurling insults at them, claiming to be a lawyer from Hong Kong and belittling the people of Hunan.

In one of the viral videos, the man can be seen yelling at Jiang Yan and her friends while throwing objects in their direction. In another clip, Jiang Yan is shown violently attacking the man on the ground as her friends try to intervene.

She recounted, "The guy at the next table, whom I didn't know, suddenly stood up and started scolding us, saying things about people from Hunan. I ignored him at first, but when my friends started arguing with him, I couldn't hold back anymore."

She noted that the man was heavily intoxicated during the confrontation.

Jiang Yan also claimed that the man struck her on the head with his mobile phone before she retaliated in self-defence.
