by Press Association, https://www.thejournal.ie/author/press-association/ · TheJournal.ieA “FAMOUS” MAN has lost his bid for a High Court injunction preventing two media organisations from publishing allegations against him, but cannot yet be named subject to any appeal, a judge has ruled.
The man brought proceedings against Independent Television News (ITN) and Guardian News and Media, publisher of The Guardian.

During a two-day trial in London last week, lawyers for the media organisations said the allegations concerned an alleged “abuse of power and status” to contact young women and attempt to engage in “inappropriate and exploitative sexual activities”.
The man denies the allegations. His lawyers argued that publication would put his life at risk, while the media organisations argued there was a strong public interest in reporting the claims.
