Tributes paid to man who died in Blanchardstown after being attacked by two teenagers

Two boys in their mid-teens have been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
The man was found unconscious on Mill Road in Blanchardstown shortly after 4.20pm on Sunday, and was pronounced dead in hospital on Wednesday.
A fundraiser has been organised to assist the deceased’s family with funeral expenses. Over €14,000 has been raised for the funeral, details of which have yet to be announced.
The organiser of the fundraiser described the deceased as a ”caring and selfless” man who brought “love and laughter” to many.

“Alex was truly loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, warmth, and presence touched so many lives, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him,” she said.
She said that his organs have been donated — “a lasting gift that reflects the caring and selfless person he was”.
The organiser expressed the deceased’s family’s thanks to the staff at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and those who have supported the family with messages, visits and prayers.
“The family ask that Alex be remembered for the wonderful person he was and the love and laughter he brought to so many.”
Gardaí have looked to speak with anyone who travelled on Mill Lane in Blanchardstown, either on foot or by car, between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday.
