Man (30s) in critical condition following overnight assault in Cork

A MAN IN his late 30s is in a critical condition following a serious overnight assault in Cork.

Shortly after 3am, gardaí on active patrol discovered a man in his late 30s with serious injuries at Liffey Park, Mayfield, Cork.

The injured man was transported by ambulance to Cork University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The scene has been preserved for forensic and technical examination and investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

Anyone who was in the Liffey Park area during the early hours of this morning and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, is asked to make this footage available.
