Capcom Spotlight returns with new trailers and game updates on Thursday
by Nick Petrasiti · tsaCapcom has announced that its next Capcom Spotlight showcase will air on Thursday 25th June, promising around 30 minutes of updates, putting a real focus on three of the publisher’s recent and upcoming titles.
The presentation is set to begin at 10pm BST / 2pm PT / 5pm ET and will be streamed live via Capcom’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
While Capcom Spotlights typically focus on providing fresh looks at previously announced games rather than unveiling brand new projects, there should still be plenty for fans to look forward to.
This week’s showcase will feature on Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which is one of their big hopes for later this year, launching on 25th September. There have been some rumours that Onimusha’s release could shift forward a couple weeks, trying to find a little more space in a jam-packed September for releases, since everyone’s trying to avoid GTA 6.
But Capcom will also be sharing news for already released games Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection and Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. It’s not clear what new content could be coming to Monster Hunter Stories 3, whether it’s free additional content for the RPG spin-off or new DLC, but we know that Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be an expansion for the 2024 action RPG.
Announced during the Nintendo Direct showcase as a Switch 2 port, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be coming to all platforms. It will feature a new Northern region of Norgan, where you will join forces with Eir to reveal the secrets of a Fallen Dragon. Along the way, you’ll also be able to find and appraise forgotten relics to gain new weapons and skills. There’s also twelve Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges to test your skills against, and the Character Creator is getting new hairstyles and tattoos. Before then, though, Capcom will release another major update in August to improve frame rates and bring additional save slots to the game.
As always, we’ll be covering all of the major announcements as they happen, so be sure to check back once the showcase gets underway.
