Outbound will launch earlier than planned because of Subnautica 2
by Aran Suddi · tsaIt was only a few weeks ago that Outbound was been delayed to May 14th by Square Glade Games, after an issue meant it would not release on April 23rd. Now, an external issue has impacted the release date of Outbound, but in a more positive way. Because Subnautica 2 Early Access now has a release date set for May 14th, Square Glade Games has decided to move the Outbound release date forward to May 11th to avoid a clash. However, the PS5 and Switch releases will stay at May 14th.
In a statement, Square Glade Games wrote, “The highly anticipated title Subnautica 2 just revealed their release date – which falls exactly on our planned release date May 14th. Even though we are very hyped for their game and big fans of the franchise, we think that it is best to not compete with such an highly anticipated title on that day. We need to dodge the Leviathan, which means that you can start your road trip on earlier! With Subnautica 2 launching on May 14th on Steam and Xbox, Outbound will now release earlier on May 11th on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox – with the other consoles following on May 14th! Please note that this change means, that the demo will go offline on May 8th.”
In Outbound, you explore a cosy near utopian world in your camper, which can be upgraded with different items to make the journey as comfortable as possible. You will be able to adopt a pet to join you on your road trip, and Outbound also supports four player co-op so you can go on a road trip with others. Outbound will be released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series XS, Switch and Switch 2.
