Ubisoft has proposed the closure of Trials franchise developer RedLynx in Finland, with the loss of 52 jobs.

RedLynx were bought by Ubisoft in 2011 and released a number of Trials games, the last being Trials Rising in 2019.  After that, they moved to support other Ubisoft studios rather than create their own games,

We gave Trials Rising 8/10 in our review.

“Trials Rising takes us back to basics with the real world inspiring a long series of new and inventive trials, but losing none of the challenge or RedLynx’s dark sense of humour.Trials Rising takes us back to basics with the real world inspiring a long series of new and inventive trials, but losing none of the challenge or RedLynx’s dark sense of humour,” said Stefan.

Along with this news, Ubisoft also announced further cuts at Ubisoft Singapore.

“At Ubisoft Singapore, 70 positions have been impacted to align the studio with upcoming production needs. The studio remains an important part of Ubisoft’s global production organization. We deeply value the contributions of both teams and recognize the impact this may have on our colleagues. We are committed to supporting our teams throughout this process and conducting it with care and respect.”

The cuts represent around one-fifth of the staff at Ubisoft Singapore, which is most famous for the troubled Skull and Bones, a game that took almost thirteen years to develop.
