Check out the trailer for the Resident Evil film reboot
by Tuffcub · tsaMilla Jovovich’s run of Resident Evil films may not have been the best cinema, or much to do with Resident Evil, but they did make a huge amount of money with over $1.2 billion at the box office.
All of them were produced by Constantin Film, as is the new take of the series that waves goodbye to Alice, Wesker, and lots of CGI, in favour of a more contained location.
The story finds medical courier Bryan (Austin Abrams) stuck in the middle of nowhere after his vehicle breaks down, and heading to a creepy house to try and make a phone call. The movie is co-written and directed by Zach Cregger, the chap behind the excellent Barbarian and the Oscar-winning Weapons.
The trailer does have a very brief shot of what appears to be a zombie horde, but the rest of the imagery doesn’t seem to be lifted from the games. Cregger has said this is “a thrilling — and terrifying — reinvention” of the franchise.
The film is set to be released this September in IMAX.
