Capcom has shone their Capcom Spotlight onto Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, the expanded release of the 2024 action RPG which is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 as well as the original launch platforms on 9th October.

Dark Arisen will add and enhance three main areas of Dragon’s Dogma 2. The new story will be a major part of that, taking players to the northern region of Norgan. They’re also adding 12 new challenge dungeons to the main area of the game. And finally the charact customisation tools are being expanded with a lot more options for custom hair and tattoos, really letting you get the perfect look for your Arisen and main Pawn.

Game director Kento Kinoshita explained more about what you’ll be doing up in the frigid wastes of Norgan. One driving factor will be collecting Relics while on expeditions, taking them back to be appraised, and then having them forged into new weapons, skills and armour. This allows you to venture further and explore the region to find the secrets of the Fallen Dragon and Eir, the mysterious woman pursuing it.

On Nintendo Switch 2, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will only available in its complete and bundled form, but in addition to a new release on other platforms, existing owners will be able to buy the Dark Arisen expansion separately. In a nice touch, newcomers that pre-order the full Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen bundle on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC will gain access to the base game immediately.

For the super keen who really must play it soon, Capcom has confirmed that this will be playable at Gamescom 2026.

Additionally, Title Update 3.2 will arrive in late August bringing performance improvement, save system improvements, Dragonsplague adjustments, and more tweaks to the game’s action, UI, Pawn, enemies and general bug fixes.
