SWR to run special trains for Sabarimala pilgrims

The South Western Railway will run special trains between Hubballi-Kollam and Belagavi-Kollam stations to accommodate the extra rush and for the convenience of devotees travelling to Sabarimala.

According to a release, SWR will run a total of six trips in each direction. Accordingly Train no. 07313 SSS Hubballi–Kollam Special Express will depart from SSS Hubballi Station every Thursday from December 5 to January 9 at 5.30 p.m. and reach Kollam at 4.30 p.m. on the following day (Friday).

In the return direction, train no. 07314 Kollam-SSS Hubballi Special Express will depart from Kollam every Friday from December 6 to January 10 at 6.30 p.m. and reach SSS Hubballi at 7.35 p.m. the next day (Saturday).

En route, the train will halt at Haveri, Ranibennur, Harihar, Davangere, Kadur, Arsikere, Tumakuru, SMVT Bengaluru, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, and Kayankulam stations in both directions.

From Belagavi

Train no. 07317 Belagavi-Kollam Special Express will depart from Belagavi every Monday from December 9 to January 13 at 2.30 p.m. and reach Kollam at 4.30 p.m. the following day (Tuesday).

In the return direction, train no. 07318 Kollam-Belagavi Special Express will depart from Kollam every Tuesday from December 10 to January 14 at 6.30 p.m. and reach Belagavi at 10 p.m. the next day (Wednesday).

En route, the train will halt at Khanapur, Londa, Dharwad, SSS Hubballi, Haveri, Ranibennur, Harihar, Davangere, Kadur, Arsikere, Tumakuru, SMVT Bengaluru, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, and Kayankulam stations in both directions.

Each train will comprise 18 coaches, including: one AC Two-Tier, four AC Three-Tier, eleven Sleeper Class and 1 SLRD and 1 Luggage, Brake, and Generator Van.  Passengers can check the train arrival and departure timings by visiting the official website (www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in), using the NTES app or dialing 139, the release said.
