The Hindu Group releases coffee table book on Lord Murugan’s abodes

The Hindu Group of Publications has brought out a coffee table book, The Glory of Murugan and His Arupadaiveedu, in English and Tamil.

The aesthetically designed book speaks of the uniqueness and greatness of the Arupadaiveedu or the six divine abodes of Lord Murugan — Tirupparankundram, Tiruchendur, Palani, Swamimalai, Tiruttani, and Pazhamudirsolai.

The book depicts the history and uniqueness of the abodes and throws light on their special aspects.

Writers, well versed in the subject, have contributed. The contents include a quick tour of other well-known Murugan temples in Tamil Nadu, underscoring the enriching and enduring importance of Lord Murugan in the Tamil cultural and spiritual sphere.

The book has over 300 photographs taken by The Hindu’s team of photographers, besides material from The Hindu’s archives. The book has been curated by Geetha Venkataramanan, former head, Friday Review Desk, The Hindu.

The books were placed at the feet of Lord Swaminathaswamy at Swamimalai, near Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district, on Thursday evening. Thereafter, the books were received by Rohit Ramesh, Director, THG Publishing Private Limited, marking their launch in English and Tamil.

Sridhar Aranala, Vice President (Sales and Distribution), THG Publishing Private Limited; R. Srinivasan, Head-Magazines and Special Publications; RA. Babu Vijay, Senior General Manager; and K. Venkatesan, Regional Head-Tiruchi, were present on the occasion.
