Coronation Street star ties the knot as former co-stars join wedding celebrations

Coronation Street star Melissa Johns has officially married her long-term partner, with several of her former co-stars in attendance at the extravagant celebration. Melissa, who portrayed Imogen Pascoe, the ex-girlfriend of Kate Connor on the ITV soap from 2017 to 2019, finally said 'I do' to her partner Dan Hampton on Friday afternoon.

For her special day, the actress and disability rights activist chose a stunning off-the-shoulder bridal gown and was seen beaming in numerous photos both before and after the ceremony. Sharing several glimpses of her wedding online, the joyous couple were surrounded by their loved ones for the significant occasion, with a well-known Coronation Street star also present.

Among the celebrities celebrating the big day was actress Bhavna Limbachia, who famously portrayed Rana Habeeb in the show, alongside her actor husband Darren Kuppan.

Providing a behind-the-scenes look at the wedding online, Melissa revealed a few key details about her big day on Instagram - including her wild wedding reception! Among the photos shared online were one of the bride-to-be wearing statement sunglasses as she posed with friends, while another photo showed off her customised denim jacket to keep warm as the day turned into evening, reports the Mirror.

Melissa also gave fans a sneak peek of her wedding dress as she walked down the aisle, showcasing the beautiful lace-embellished design as she prepared to spend her life with her dream man.

Since departing Corrie in July 2019, Melissa has been busy with her acting career, landing several roles including The Interceptor, The Split and I Hate Suzie. However, viewers may best remember her for her recurring role as Miss Scott in ITV's Grantchester.

In addition to her acting work, Melissa is a passionate advocate for disabled rights and frequently campaigns for improved on-screen representation of disability, having been born without her right forearm and hand.

Eager to inspire more disabled individuals to pursue careers in the arts, she co-founded TripleC, an organisation dedicated to helping disabled people access the performing arts.
