BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell shares moving Chris McCausland snap as they say 'we never thought'

Dianne Buswell shared a moving picture of herself and Chris McCausland which captured their partnership behind the scenes before they issued a special joint announcement over Strictly Come Dancing.

The comedian and the professional dancer made it through to week eight of the BBC One dance contest and therefore returned to the ballroom on Saturday night (November 9) where they performed their couple’s choice routine to Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) by John Lennon.

They closed the latest live show with the impressive jazz-inspired performance featuring a "poignant" blackout moment, imitating Chris' own experience with blindness, with him since saying it was to put viewers in the dark and be surprised by what they saw afterwards.

As viewers of the dance show will have seen, at the end of the dance Chris could be seen placing his hands over Dianne's eyes as the room faded to black, the lights coming up moments later to show the comedian spinning around with Buswell on his shoulders, pyrotechnics flaring in the background.

The performance received rapturous applause from the audience and a score of 33 out of a possible 40 points from the judges - Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.

Craig said the "poignant blackout moment" was "absolutely spectacular" while head judge Shirley was left emotional and as she gathered herself and told Chris: "You come out every week with your heart on your sleeve, and you give us 100%."

Chris and Dianne have now issued a joint post on Instagram saying they can't believe they will be heading to Blackpool for the special episode in the seaside town's iconic Tower Ballroom. The message was written by Dianne and shared by Chris which said: "Thank you all so much for the lovely comments support and votes.

Something we never thought we would say is we are off to Blackpool. Just so proud and so happy thank you partner your the best ! Let’s continue to shine on." Chris took to the comments and added: "Thank you all so much for your votes! Bucket it and spade is packed and ready to go."

Meanwhile, Dianne also took to her Instagram Story with a photo of the pair in which they could be seen heading up the stairs ready for their big entrance into the ballroom on Saturday night, with the pair both having a single arm around one another.
