BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans 'to face wrath of the public' in Blackpool week blow
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsWynne Evans is set to face the 'wrath of the public' as he's dealt a Strictly Come Dancing blow ahead of this weekend's Blackpool special, it has been claimed. The opera singer has made it to week nine of the BBC One dance contest alongside dance partner Katya Jones.
They had to battle for their place in the competitiona fter Wynne was praised for improving his footwork following his performance of an American Smooth to Grace Kelly by Mika, for which the pair were awarded 32 pointsout of a possible 40 from the judges.
Despite the praise, Wynne and Katya had to fight for their place in week nine of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series during the latest results show on Sunday (November 10), which also happens to be the annual Blackpool special which will take place at the iconic Tower Ballroom.

They faced the dance-off against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu with both couples having to reprise their week eight performances from Saturday night (November 9).
After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts: Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Shayne and Nancy, as did Motsi, while Anton Du Beke chose to save Wynne and Katya. With two votes in favour of Shayne and Nancy, the decision came down to head judge Shirley, who decided to save Wynne and Katya.
The decision sparked uproar among some fans as they demanded a change to the way the vote is decided, with many suggesting a tied vote should see the decision come back to the public vote.

The show, however, must go on and despite the division, Wynne and Katya have been back in training for this Saturday's (November 16) performance, which will see them dance a Charleston to Carmen Suite No.1: 5.Les toréadors by Georges Bizet.
But, it's been revealed that Wynne is the odds-on favourite to be eliminated from Strictly next at 4/6, according to Ladbrokes. The bookies make the opera singer the clear favourite for the boot after he found himself in the bottom two last weekend. Pete Wicks is also in the danger zone at 3/1, ahead of JB Gill at 7/2 and Jamie Borthwick at 5/1.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "The odds suggest he will finally face the wrath of the public this weekend."
