Peter Kay makes big surprise announcement during I'm a Celebrity ad break
by Dianne Bourne · Manchester Evening NewsPeter Kay made a surprise announcement during the first ad break of the big return of I'm a Celebrity.... Get Me Out of Here to the delight of fans - just as he did to initially announce his huge tour comeback two years ago. The Bolton comedy superstar has been on a record-breaking run of gigs across the UK since December 2022.
Now, he has announced a raft of new dates that will take the tour into 2025 and 2026. The new dates will include shows at Manchester's AO Arena as well a host of more intimate theatre event spaces.
He announced the extra dates for his comedy tour with a surprise TV ad in the opening episode of I’m Celebrity on Sunday night. The hilarious new advert sees Peter spotted as he carries a gold toilet to his mum’s iconic bungalow and reveals new shows for 2025 & 2026.

The ad starts from the viewpoint of a couple of unseen fans in a car saying "Is that Peter Kay's mum's bungalow?" as the comedian is seen carrying the gold toilet into a bungalow. As he walks, the fan asks about the garage complete with a Freddie Mercury mural which Peter says is his mum's favourite.
The man shouts to the comic to ask if he's doing more tour dates, to which Peter replies: "Hey, I've no choice! She wants it all now" before asking if he's carrying a gold toilet.
Peter quips: "Oh aye, you want to see her bidet."
Peter’s new dates will see him perform in some of the UK’s largest arenas and more intimate theatre event spaces. The new 2025 and 2026 shows include his first dates at Aberdeen P&J Live, Brighton Centre, Bournemouth International Centre and Isle of Man Villa Marina.

The tour, which started in Manchester, December 2022 has already broken records: he’s just completed his 100th show at the Manchester AO Arena breaking all attendance and performance records and, astonishingly, Peter is the first artist in the world to perform a monthly residency at The O2, London, performing 45 shows, the most played by any artist in the venue’s history. Peter’s new dates include two new weekend shows at The O2 in 2025 further adding to this incredible milestone.
Peter said in a statement tonight: "It's been wonderful doing what I love most, stand-up comedy. Laughter is more important than ever in these challenging times and with the cost of living still at an all-time high, ticket prices for the new dates will start from £35."
