Coronation Street's Jude Riordan in 'four-year' update as he and co-star flooded with comments

by · Manchester Evening News

Coronation Street star Jude Riordan shared a 'four-year' update with fans before he celebrated his co-star's latest achievement. The actor is best known for playing Sam Blakeman in the ITV soap.

It was a chance encounter at Weatherfield General that resulted in Nick Tilsley finding out that he had a son, marking Jude's arrival onto the cobbles as Sam. However, Natasha was tragically shot dead by gangster Harvey Gaskell, leaving the youngster in the care of his dad and partner Leanne Battersby, who was Harvey's intended target.

Sam's home life has recently faced fresh upheaval after Leanne discovered Nick had cheated on her with her own sister, Toyah Habeeb amid her involvement with The Insitute, resulting in him leaving their shared flat.

But it appears Jude is more than happy to be part of the Weatherfield gang and took to social media with a snap of himself spotting his name in the credits following the latest episode of the long-running show.

He smiled alongside the TV screen as he pointed out his name and said on his Instagram Story: "4 years of Sam Blakeman on the telly @coronationstreet."

Jude has since taken to social media to heap praise on his co-star and fellow young actor Charlie Wrenshall, who recently received an award for his portrayal of Liam Connor on the cobbles. Charlie picked up the gong for at the 2024 Inside Soap Awards earlier this week, where Corrie also picked up the 'Best Soap' nod on the night.

Following his return to work following his award-winning night, Jude grabbed him for a snap at the studio and as he pointed to his award-winning co-star, Jude said: "When the award winner is in you've gotta get your pic! Well done to my guy.''

And fans were quick to respond. @lioness1954 said: "Two great stars right there." @julesheartsdisney commented: "Congratulations Charlie, very well deserved. You are both remarkable young actors."

@danielj.fagan replied: "Congrats Charlie, really well deserved; you and Jude are Awesome Young Actors." @laurieinqueens posted: "So well deserved. Charlie absolutely smashed that storyline." @blondnorse added: "Great photo Jude!"
