BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Vito Coppola fights tears and says 'miss you' in emotional personal message

Vito Coppola has been fighting tears on what he described as a special day as he shared a public message to his family. The Strictly Come Dancing star often speaks about his loved ones who are living in his home country of Italy.

Vito is currently away from his family as he competes in the latest series of the BBC One dance contest alongside actress Sarah Hadland. The dancer last documented a trip back to Italy in late December through to early January.

After lifting the Glitterball trophy with actress Ellie Leach following the final of Strictly 2023, Vito's trip back to Italy didn't appear to be the break fans would have expected to him as he's been put to work alongside his dad and brother at their farm.

Now, Vito has taken to social media in messages about his family as he continues to spend time away from them to live out his dancing career.

Sharing a selfie to his Instagram Story on Wednesday (October 2), the 32-year-old appeared to be being driven to rehearsals for week three of Strictly 2024 and appeared to have tears in his eyes as he looked away from the camera.

Alongside the post, he wrote: "Today is a special day. Today is Grandparents Day, that I love very much. I miss you guys." It wasn't until later, after hours of rehearsals with Sarah for their Viennese Waltz to Hedwig’s Theme from Harry Potter for the show's Movie Week special on Saturday (October 5), that Vito shared another message.

He shared his latest main grid post, which featured 10 different pictures he had taken of himself a few moments earlier, to his Instagram Story and wrote: "To my family: I think about you every day. Miss you. I love and feel you always with me... Everything I do is for you because you are my life."

Alongside his main post, Vito shared: "10 pics challenge accepted. Just 10 pics right now in one take, without any selections, here we go! This is me in one of the moment during the day thinking about my family and the people I love. I like to travel, car, train, bus, tube or plane…, it doesn’t matter… I always look up to the sky, thinking about my family.

"Miss and Love you and I know that where I will be and whenever I will look up we will look at the same sun, sharing the same sky, and this makes me feel not that far away from you, protected and always loved. Love you to the moon and back, well, in my case I love you to the sun and back. Vi amo. V."

Ellie was quick to respond, simply writing: "Love you," in the comments while his current dance partner Sarah posted a string of love heart eyes emojis.
