BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans 'forgive' JB Gill and Lauren Oakley before defending them over 'crime'
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsStrictly Come Dancing fans have seemingly forgiven JB Gill and Lauren Oakley over their latest performance before they quickly defended the couple for the show's 'criminal' move.
The JLS star's bandmates were seen offering him encouragement, before he danced in Blackpool during the show's annual special on Saturday night (November 16), at a rehearsal session with his professional dance partner Lauren.
JB's mother, who had so far been unable to watch him dance in person because she was recovering from an operation that took place at the start of the series, was then seen at the famous Blackpool Tower to watch his quickstep routine to Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley.

Judge Anton Du Beke praised JB for his "great control, lovely technique", but criticised his head position and head judge Shirley Ballas told the singer and TV star that there is "so much to like with you", and the "sky’s the limit" if he managed to get his positioning correct before he and Lauren received 35 points.
But Strictly fans flocked to social media to comment about being 'Rickrolled' due to their song choice. Some may remember that Rickrolling or a Rickroll is an internet meme involving the unexpected appearance of the music video to the 1987 hit song by signer Rick.

@01jasmine_ asked: "How have the BBC managed to rickroll me twice in one week? First drag race and now strictly,." @fergalysssa commented: "This dance was worth the rickrolling!!! so so good."
But the version of the song didn't go down well with some. @pepperkitecat said: "That Rick Astley song was all wrong for JB's dance #strictly" @jenksles14 commented: "I am willing to let a lot of things go but I will not stand for the mockery of this version of the fantastic Rick Astley’s brilliant song WTF! #Strictly."
@DrBeauBeaumont wrote: "I’d like to report a crime. I think Dave Arch just murdered Rick Astley live on #Strictly."@livetvposts shared: "It’s sacrilege having anyone other than Rick Astley singing this song. #Strictly." @yh5000 added: "Brilliant dance JB and Lauren despite the strange song choice."
