BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell sends Chris McCausland message as fans issue same complaint

Dianne Buswell has sent a public message to Chris McCausland after Strictly Come Dancing fans were left with the same complaint following their latest performance.

The duo were back in the ballroom on Saturday night (November 2) after making it through to week seven following a tricky time during last weekend's Halloween special.

But it was another themed night in the BBC One dance contest as for the first time ever, Icons Week took place and saw the remaining 10 couples take to the dance floor to perform a routine accompanied by a track from a well-known singer or band with George Michael, Madonna, The Beatles and Bruno Mars among them.

For their performance, comedian Chris and professional dancer Dianne delivered a Tango to rock band KISS' hit Rock and Roll All Nit, in which they sported dark outfits and eye makeup reminiscent of the rock band.

They were applauded by host Tess Daly, who commented: "Listen to that applause Chris, I think Dave Arch enjoyed playing that as much as you enjoyed dancing it!"

Chris quipped in reply, "Well you know, dancing a Tango on BBC, I can only imagine someone's got to dance a Fanta now just to balance it out! " However, his joke landed flat with no response from the live studio audience. Taking it in his stride, Chris then clapped back humorously at himself by saying: "Yeah, that was funnier in my head, shame this isn't pre-recorded innit?"

Chris and Dianne ended up scoring 29 points out of a possible 40 which didn't go down well with viewers who wanted more for the couple, who are among the favourites to lift the Glitterball trophy this year.

Following the show, Dianne responded to a clip of their performance on Strictly's Instagram feed, in which she told her celebrity dance partner: "So proud of you! What you achieve every week is not easy and you're doing such a brilliant job."

Meanwhile, Strictly fans were flocking to comment on the judges' response to Chris and Dianne's latest performance as they made the same point.

@itspp0000 said: "It’s actually insane that Chris has no reference for these dances and somehow Dianne communicates what it should LOOK like to someone who can’t SEE! Week after week I am so impressed with this pair." @pennycook66 commented: "I agree I cannot understand Craig's low scoring. Chris has never seen the dances and he pulls it out of the bag every week. Dianne and Chris you get all my votes you're iconic!!"

@norwichsocialadventure shared: "I don’t think the judges have a clue that Chris is the only contestant that hasn’t got a clue what a dance looks like week on week. Dianne has to try and describe it to him so he can form an image in his mind. Incredible work by Dianne & Chris, all the other contestants know what a dance should look like before starting to learn the moves so have that advantage straight away!"

@relizf added: "Feel like the judges dont appreciate the challenges - the fact chris produces dances of these standard week in week out without any mistakes is incredible - dianne really doesn’t get the recognition she deserves for the way she is teaching him, she could play it safe each week but the routines are always full of content and needs to be acknowledged more! They are doing an amazing job - he’s a non dancer and get my votes."
