Ruth Langsford makes 'subtle dig' at Eamonn Holmes ahead of I'm A Celebrity role

Loose Women star Ruth Langsford is thought to make reference to how she feels about life since splitting from Eamonn Holmes in a recent post ahead of flying out to Australia

TV presenter Ruth Langsford appeared to make a statement about her life since splitting from Eamonn Holmes in a post shared with fans on social media recently.

Loose Women panelist Ruth, 64, announced the end of her marriage to her former This Morning co-host Eamonn, 64, in May. The pair had been together for more than two decades and are parents to son Jack Holmes, 22, together.

Ruth, who is thought to still be wearing her wedding ring following the break-up, suggested in a recent post that she's "happy" in the wake of her separation from fellow presenter Eamonn, who is thought to have moved on with a new relationship. The Daily Mail reports that she appeared to take a subtle dig at him in the post.

The outlet reports that Ruth shared a photo of her lunch, which consisted of tomatoes, avocados, and olives, on her Instagram Stories on Sunday. The photo however also featured a mug that had "happy" written on the front. The post, set to the song Brunch Time by Hello EMC, was captioned: "Yum."

More recently, following the post on the weekend, Ruth confirmed this week that she's headed to Australia. It comes following reports earlier this month that she would fly out to the country to support her pal and Loose Women colleague Jane Moore, who's currently a campmate on I'm A Celebrity.

She's expected to appear on companion show I'm A Celebrity ... Unpacked, which is fronted by Joel Dommett, Kemi Rodgers and Sam Thompson. It's thought that she will be the latest celebrity guest to join them on the ITV show.

A source told the Sun: "It's been a tough year for Ruth and she's been putting her best foot forward, she's thrilled to have been asked to appear on this the spin off show and fly to Australia ahead of Christmas. She's rooting for Jane and can't wait to give her opinion on how she is getting on."

The source continued by teasing that Ruth will give the "new format a boost". The source told the outlet: "The production team are particularly excited they have landed Ruth to join them as they think she’ll be amazing and give the new format a boost."

Ruth confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that she was heading to Australia this week. She shared footage of her preparations for the trip, showing her followers some of her packing. "So I'm just packing for Australia and I wanted to show you some of my travel essentials," she said in the recent video.
