Girl, 17, raped as busy canal cordoned off and two charged over attack
Two teenagers have been charged after a teenage girl reported she was raped and sexually assaulted, West Midlands Police said

The 17-year-old girl was attacked in the Rowleys Green area of Coventry, West Midlands, on March 15. Officers conducted enquiries and arrested a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old boy. The 17-year-old boy was charged with rape and the 18-year-old boy was charged with sexual assault in relation to the girl, West Midlands Police said. Part of Longford Canal remains cordoned off.
The force told Coventry Live: "We have charged two teenagers after a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and raped in the Rowleys Green area of Coventry on March 15. An 18-year-old boy has been charged with sexual assault and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with rape.
“Both are next due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on April 15."
