Meghan Markle has ruined a lot of her friendships by "alienating" pals and "cutting them dead" if they cross her, according to a royal author.

The Duchess of Sussex ends her close relationships in a way that many people find "distressing", according to royal author Ingrid Seward. The royal insider explained: "Well, I think that Meghan has managed to alienate a lot of her former friends. She does something which is very distressing for people. She actually sort of just cuts them dead and ghosts them, as it's called.

"But to me, it's just called cutting them dead and not wanting to see them anymore. And if they upset her, that's what she does and it's very difficult to deal with somebody like that. I think that people are just fed up with Meghan." Speaking to The Sun, Ingrid claimed these scorned friends have become so hurt by the mistreatment that they're starting to speak out about her behaviour.

Lizzie Cundy, 56, a socialite and former pal of the ex-actress, claims that Meghan "ghosted" her and stopped all communication after her engagement to Prince Harry. She also said that Meghan needs Los Angeles than the city needs her.

Ingrid watched a video of the Duchess at the Los Angeles Children's Hospital Gala which she attended on Saturday, and accused her of "posing" and that she wasn't involved in her actions. She also suggested that Meghan may have only stayed for the pictures, which she's been hit with "bad publicity" in the past for.

Another of Meghan's former pals, Jessica Mulroney, fell out with the Duchess after Jessica became embroiled in a race row with Canadian blogger Sacha Exeter. Despite issuing two public apologies, Meghan is said to have maintained a distance.

PR gurus have shared their thoughts on Meghan Markle's appearance on Saturday, and her decision to re-wear a modified version of a dress from three years ago, and doing so without Prince Harry by her side. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, was snapped at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles Gala earlier this month, donning a Caroline Herrera gown she last wore three years prior.

Notably, the dress had been altered, with the most significant change being the removal of the train that once trailed behind the gown. Speaking to Express.co.uk, two PR experts offered their insights into Meghan's revamped look and what her solo appearance suggests about her and Prince Harry's life in the US, four years after their move.

shley Rossiter of MirrorMePR suggested that Meghan's choice of the red dress indicated she didn't want to be overlooked, stating: "The dress is a statement not to be ignored, but combined with the dressed-down hair and make-up."

She added, "It also presents Meghan in a more relaxed frame and alludes to a less formal and more approachable persona, as well as showing Meghan's natural beauty and figure off at her best."
