Meet JLS Ortisé Williams and wife's 'secret' baby after devastating miscarriages
JLS singer Oritsé Williams and his wife of two years Kazz have welcomed a beautiful baby boy - called Shiva - into the world, following two heartbreaking miscarriages
by Eve Macdonald · The MirrorJLS star Oritsé Williams and his wife Kazz delighted fans when they announced her pregnancy last month. What they did not say is their baby boy had already arrived safely – 11 days earlier. Oritsé, 37, dad to 10-year-old Omré from a previous relationship, tells OK! : “I’m on cloud nine. I’m in complete awe of my baby boy, he is truly a blessing and I’m proud of us.” The arrival of Shiva Zion Olumidé Williams at 6.47am on October 3, weighing 7lb 8oz, was a long time coming for the couple, who had been through two devastating miscarriages.
Kazz, 40, says: “When we found out we were pregnant this time, I was happy and scared at the same time. “I was crippled with anxiety to the point I had to use crutches to move. But Oritsé was amazing – he supported me so much.” The couple, who met on social media in 2019, found out Kazz was pregnant with Shiva on the day they met specialists to discuss IVF as an option. She says: “After the meeting, I started to feel a bit sick so I took a pregnancy test – and it was positive. I couldn’t believe it.”
But due to their previous heartbreaking losses, the couple booked weekly private scans to reassure anxious Kazz. She began to calm down at her 20-week scan only to find out she had gestational diabetes so had to change her diet. Oritsé, who shot to fame in boyband JLS alongside Aston Merrygold, JB Gill and Marvin Humes, has opened up about their previous losses.
He says: “We are grateful for the support and love we have received. We had no idea that many of our friends went through it, too.” Kazz says she will “never forget” Oritsé doing all he could to keep her calm during Shiva’s birth via C-section. And as for Shiva joining his dad on the road when it comes to JLS tours? Oritsé laughs: “How could he not? I want him attached to me everywhere. I want him to know his daddy as someone who is always there – not just when it comes to nappy changing!”
