EastEnders icon Lacey Turner has revealed she's looking forward to the "next chapter" in her life.

The star who is best known for playing loveable Stacey Slater on the BBC One soap occasionally shares an insight into her personal life with fans on social media. In September this year, the star, 36, announced that she and her husband Matt Kay were expecting their third child together.

Taking to Instagram, Lacey shared a snap of herself, Matt and their two children posing on a beach as she beamed while showing off her ultrasound scan showing off her unborn little one. "Aren't we lucky….. @thekayoskids," she captioned her stunning upload. Now, in a rare interview, Lacey has opened up about preparing for the arrival of her little one.

"I'm excited for all of us really," she gushed as she spoke to the Mirror. She went on to add: "It's like another chapter in our little story, yeah I am excited. There's nothing better than a newborn and a newborn cuddle, so that would be lovely. Yeah, we're really excited and we're looking forward to it." But this means that Lacey is set to take a break from her EastEnders role – although no details about Stacey's exit have been confirmed.

But Lacey is already preparing a very sweet gift for her baby – a photo book filled with precious family memories. "You take lots of photos of them, 1000s of photos," she said. Lacey continued: "I make one for my kids every year, I make thema photo book of their year, I just feel like when they're older, what if they want to look at the photos of themselves and they don't know how to get them off the stick, or don't know where they're going to be in a cloud or in a computer or something.

"I love sitting looking through photos, it's nice that I do it fo them, so I should be making three." But one thing Lacey isn't worried about, however, is the sleepless nights that comes with having a newborn. "Oh that's ok," she chuckled over Zoom. This year, Lacey has teamed up with CEWE as she explored the dos and don'ts in the run up to Christmas.

She continued to open up about the next few months as she and her family gear up for her new arrival, saying: "I love this time of year and obviously we, you know, we've got a lot going on in our house but it's going to be lovely. As the children grow older, it's lovely. They change so much ad this age and it's lovely to see they're going through their little milestones and it's great.

"I love being cold, cozy cardigans and fires, I don't know – I just love everything about this time of year!" Lacey highlighted that 73 per cent of Brits admit to being disappointed by gifts they receive each Christmas. Elsewhere, it was revealed that novelty gifts, household mops and socks are rated as some of the worst presents to buy for loved ones.

Meanwhile, a whopping 75 per cent of Brits believe that the price tag never matters, it's the thoughts and sentiments behind the presents that are the real value.
