Lizzo shows off dramatic weight loss on Thanksgiving after shutting down Ozempic rumours
Rapper and singer Lizzo, 36, shared her glamorous outfit as she spent Thanksgiving with her loved ones - and fans praised her for her 'glowing' look during her weight loss journey
by Chiara Fiorillo · The MirrorLizzo has showed off her dramatic weight loss as she celebrated Thanksgiving this week after denying allegations that she has used type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic.
The 36-year-old American rapper and singer posted photos and videos of herself as she had dinner with her loved ones on Thursday. Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated in the United States, Canada, and other countries on the fourth Thursday of November - and it's an occasion for people to come together with their family and friends to celebrate the harvest and blessings of the past year.
And marking the holiday, Lizzo gave her fans an insight on her look - wearing an off-the-shoulder orange dress decorated with a flower and paired with earrings, a bracelet and one ring on each index finger. She wore simple, natural make up, and kept her breaded hair up.
In a post shared on Instagram on Friday, Lizzo wrote: "Yall wasn't the only ones eating yesterday." In a separate video, she also gave fans an insight on the food she shared with her loved ones - including turkey, potatoes and vegetables.
Fans took to the comment section to compliment the rapper as one wrote: "Damn girl you look great." Another added: "Beautiful as usual." Someone else said: "Love this dress! Beautiful." A fourth commented: "Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving."
A fan wrote: "You will always be the queen." One added: "You look so good." Another asked: "Lizzo what do you use on your skin sis? The neck is even glowing."
It comes after Lizzo addressed allegations that she has been using Ozempic. The medicine is used for adults with type 2 diabetes and, along with diet and exercise, it may improve blood sugar. It's not a weight loss drug, as explained on Ozempic's official website, however by helping regulate your blood sugar, it may help you lose some weight.
However, after rumours began spreading that Lizzo had been using the medicine, she denied it, and said her weight loss achievements are simply the results of diet and exercise. In September, one person commented on her post: "Did she use Ozempic or did she snort coke?" Lizzo replied to the comment saying it had taken months of weight training to get where she is today. "When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit," she said.
She later also hit back at body-shaming trolls as she confessed to feeling "really bad" after overindulging during her weight loss journey. A few weeks ago, the singer admitted in a TikTok video: "I overate yesterday and I'm feeling really bad about it." She continued: "I'm trying to remind myself that my body needs nourishment, and if my body deserves comfort then my brain deserves comfort too." Her post was captioned: "If you're going through this ur not alone (sic)".
