Jennifer Lopez in know for her lavish celebrations, yet Bruno Mars' request was even too much for her.

The On the Floor hitmaker was planning a wedding to Alex Rodriguez in 2019 when she approached to singer Bruno to perform at the ceremony. However, J-Lo is said to have found his price tag so "ridiculous" that she turned him down. Jennifer and New York Yankees star Alex were together for five years and engaged for two but called off their relationship in April 2021.

They never got to walk down the aisle, yet did set on planning their big day. Celebrity wedding planner Marcy Blum has spilled on details of their highly anticipated nuptials. She worked with the couple after their 2019 engagement and recalled how J-Lo wanted Bruno to perform at the event.

Speaking on the Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, Marcy said: "We just worked with him, and he's five." When asked to clarify, she confirmed: "Million. For 45 minutes to an hour." Jennifer had a simple response to his $5million fee as according to Blum, the singer said: "Don't be ridiculous".

Marcy explained Bruno's performance would have lasted under an hour, which is a standard arrangement for high-profile performers. She added that booking headline entertainers for weddings often come with staggering costs, meaning most couples opt for a live band or DJ as the main event.

"You'd never have a headliner as your regular entertainment," she said. "No one wants to do their first dance to Coldplay or something. That's just dumb. You want a band or DJ, and then maybe 45 minutes of someone like Elton John or Chris Martin."

Following her split from Alex, J-Lo was seen getting close to Good Will Hunting actor Ben Affleck as they rekindled their relationship from two decades before. However, after two years of a whirlwind marriage, Bennifer called time on their romance this year following months of rumours about their relationship.

Amid the split drama, Alex took to his Instagram Stories to repost a quote that read: "You either go one way or the other. You might as well be the one deciding the direction," causing a frenzy as fans tried to decode if the message was about his ex-fiancé. A-Rod and J-Lo started dating in February 2017 after they bumped into each other and he asked her out to dinner.

After going their separate ways, they released a joint statement: "We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects." They added: "We wish the best for each other and one another's children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."
