Miranda Hart offers first proper look at stunning wedding ring as she makes festival appearance

Miranda Hart stunned fans when she revealed she had secretly got married in her new book I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You - now onlookers got a glimpse of her ring at a literature festival

Miranda Hart has flashed her wedding ring after shocking fans by revealing she secretly married her new partner in a ceremony in July.

With people dying to know more about the man who won her heart, the on-screen singleton has opened up about her new marriage with her so-called 'Bristol Boy'. With the star's new spouse being revealed as divorcee Richard Fairs, 60, Miranda was spotted out at a festival being picked up by her partner, flashing her wedding ring to onlookers.

As Fairs arrived to take Miranda home from the Cheltenham Literature Festival, photographers snapped the star, proudly showing off her jewellery. According to the Mail on Sunday, Richard plays drums for his local swing band, and was married to his ex Jeanne Speight for more than 25 years, before they split in around 2017. The paper reports the couple have two children together, son Jack and daughter Shula.

One of his neighbours at his Somerset home told a reporter that they believe his home has been sold, prompting rumours he may have moved in with Miranda in Hammersmith, London. Speaking at the festival, Ms Hart said their first date was a pizza together in her living room during lockdown.

She told how they chatted for two hours in her living room while waiting for their pizza to be delivered, explaining: "Unfortunately mine had shunted its way across the box and turned into a calzone. I was going on and on about my shunted pizza and it did not seem to faze him. We had already been talking for about two hours at that point, and I realised almost immediately that I was in love with him. It was our first date and to my surprise he came back for a second date, despite me having gone on and on about that pizza."

The news of her marriage was revealed in her autobiography, I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You, which she released last week. Miranda penned that she had married a building surveyor who came to sort out the mould in her house, adding that the on-off relationship was on the verge of ending, before he proposed at Kew Gardens.

Speaking on The One Show last week, Miranda said: "The fact that I met someone during a pandemic, during chronic illness, when I couldn't get out of bed or out of the house... I really, really wanted to meet someone, I didn't want to do life on my own anymore. The fact that I could meet somebody, it's not some some of romcom story but it's hope. Whatever situation you are in, there is always hope, things really do change."
