One of the most highly-requested video games over the past several years is a remake of Bloodborne, FromSoftware’s beloved PS4 action game. According to a new report, developer Bluepoint Games attempted to do just that, but FromSoftware wasn’t having it.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier published a report about Bluepoint, the studio that Sony acquired in 2021 and will shut down this March. In it, he reveals that the studio pitched a Bloodborne remake in early 2025. Despite being told that “the numbers made sense,” the project did not move forward because Bloodborne developer FromSoftware didn’t want it to happen.

It wouldn’t have been the first time Bluepoint remade a FromSoftware game, as the studio developed the 2020 Demon’s Souls remake that launched alongside the PS5. The report states that after being rejected, Bluepoint pitched Sony on an updated version of Shadow of the Colossus and a Ghost of Tsushima spinoff. Neither project moved forward.

Sony announced earlier this month that it will close Bluepoint Games in March. This comes after the publisher canceled an in-development God of War live service game last year.
