It’s been a few years since Behaviour Interactive announced that their hit asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight would be getting a film adaptation, and the studio has provided a significant update. The movie’s script is done, and the Dead by Daylight movie will be directed by Thordur Palsson.

The announcement was made during Dead by Daylight’s 10th Anniversary event. The screenplay was written by Alexandre Aja (Crawl) and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2-4). The director, Thordur Palsson, previously helmed the 2024 horror movie The Damned. Palsson appeared on stage to talk about the movie and his vision for it.

The Dead by Daylight movie will presumably tap into the slasher horror elements of the game, which has seen significant change over the years. Some more changes were also announced during the anniversary event, including an upcoming visual overhaul and plans to add characters from Scooby-Doo to the game.
