Star Fox's main character will be in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Nintendo and Illumination revealed that Fox McCloud will appear in the much-anticipated Mario movie sequel.

As if The Super Mario Galaxy Movie wasn’t exciting enough, Nintendo and Illumination have revealed that Star Fox’s Fox McCloud will be in it. It looks like Nintendo is packing everything and the kitchen sink into the sequel film.

Nintendo revealed Fox McCloud and confirmed his appearance in the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie on social media this week. There, they show a graphic of the character in his full glory, animated in Illumination’s Super Mario Movie style and looking as sharp as ever.

Star Fox feels like the kind of reveal where if you told me he was in there before I saw the film, I’d feel like that was a huge spoiler. That said, it’s also another cool layer on what has been an exciting lead-up to the Mario Movie sequel’s release next week. Star Fox also lends support to the idea that the Nintendo Cinematic Universe ("NCU" as we call it here) doesn’t stop at Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom. Could we be seeing a Star Fox film the future? One hopes a little harder than usual.
