Battlefield movie in the works with Michael B. Jordan
Mission: Impossible's Christopher McQuarrie will write and direct the Battlefield film.
by Donovan Erskine · ShacknewsBattlefield has joined the list of video game franchises set to become a major motion picture. Based on EA’s first-person shooter franchise, the Battlefield movie is being produced by Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that a Battlefield adaptation was in the works. In addition to producing, it’s also possible that Jordan will star in the movie. Christopher McQuarrie, who directed the last five Mission: Impossible movies, is set to write, produce, and direct Battlefield.
The Battlefield movie does not currently have a studio attached, and is expected to ignite a bidding war amongst Hollywood’s top studios.
The news comes on the heels of Battlefield 6, which reignited interest in the franchise last fall. Battlefield’s long-time competitor, Call of Duty, will get a movie adaptation of its own in 2028.
