Hundreds of IDF soldiers joined in a powerful Simchas Torah celebration at a military base, while a separate event near the Gaza border saw a Givati Brigade commander receive a dollar from the Rebbe as a special blessing for the protection of his troops.

Hundreds of IDF soldiers joined in spirited Simchas Torah celebrations at a military base, filling the dining hall with singing and dancing as part of Ezer L’Chayal’s extensive activities supporting soldiers throughout Tishrei.

The organization conducted a wide range of programs throughout the month, providing both physical and spiritual support to troops stationed across Israel, including Mivtza Shofar, Mivtza Tefillin, and mobile sukkahs that reached soldiers at front-line outposts.

Among the many activities, two particularly moving moments stood out.

On Simchas Torah, hundreds of soldiers gathered in the dining hall of an IDF base for a celebration led by a Chabad shliach.

Standing on a chair and holding a Sefer Torah, the shliach led the soldiers and their commanders in a powerful declaration of “Ato Horeisa Lada’as Ki Hashem Hu HaElokim, Ein Od Milvado!”

The entire hall erupted as hundreds of soldiers joined together, their voices filling the base with the words of the possuk.

For the soldiers, many of whom have been engaged in demanding military operations, the celebration offered an opportunity to set aside the pressures of their daily duties and experience the joy of Simchas Torah together.

Givati Commander Receives Dollar From the Rebbe

Another emotional moment took place during a Simchas Beis Hashoeva celebration at a military outpost along the Gaza border, where soldiers had fought with extraordinary courage and self-sacrifice on Simchas Torah.

The event featured live music and dancing, bringing the joy of Yom Tov to soldiers stationed at the outpost.

During the celebration, a surprise birthday tribute was held for Givati Brigade Commander Col. Netanel Shamka, who has been serving alongside his soldiers throughout the ongoing fighting.

The highlight of the evening came when Rabbi Eliyahu Gutman of Ezer L’Chayal, together with philanthropist Reb Menachem Gurevitch, presented the commander with a dollar from the Rebbe, originally distributed during Tishrei, as a special brocha for the protection and safety of the entire brigade.

The commander was visibly moved by the gift.

He had previously expressed his belief that carrying a dollar from the Rebbe would bring Divine protection to the soldiers under his command. Receiving the dollar at the very outpost where his troops had fought on Simchas Torah made the moment especially meaningful.

The two celebrations were among the highlights of Ezer L’Chayal’s Tishrei activities, which brought the joy of Yom Tov, encouragement, and spiritual support to IDF soldiers serving on the front lines.
