Chinuch Office Offers Chanukah Workshop for Preschool Teachers

by COLlive Editor · COLliveThe Merkos Chinuch Office is launching a new four-part pre-Yom Tov professional development series for Preschool Morahs. The series will be led by Mrs. Shterna Rappaport, Educational Director of the Merkos Chinuch Office and an Early Childhood Professional.
The series opens with the Preschool Chanukah-Prep Workshop, a webinar to be held on Wednesday, October 28, י”ז חשון, at 8:30 PM via Zoom. The workshop is designed to give Preschool Morahs a clear direction, outline, and set of practical ideas for teaching Chanukah in a way that leaves a lasting impression on young students, along with tools they can bring into the classroom immediately.
Workshop will include the Chanukah story through the lens of Chassidus, a suggested teaching storyline for young learners, Chanukah-themed ideas for centers and activities, Torah values and Yiddishkeit lessons drawn from the storyline, and social-emotional growth rooted in the Chanukah story. Participants will also receive ready-to-use classroom resources.
Mrs. Rappaport brings many years of experience teaching in and directing preschools. Most recently, she has mentored Preschool Morahs on best practices and strategies for actively engaging young learners.
The workshop is free of charge. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link, and all registrants will receive access to the recording.
