Thousands of boys and girls gathered Tuesday at the Maple Street football field in Crown Heights for a beautiful Lag B’Omer Rally organized by the NCFJE.

Rabbi Shimon Hecht opened the program, welcoming all the children, and introduced a united performance of the Tzivos Hashem marching bands from Oholei Torah, Ohr Menachem, Lubavitcher Yeshivah, and Tomchei Temimim Ocean Parkway. Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum then led a promotion ceremony honoring all the Chayalim who have gone up in rank in Tzivos Hashem, followed by the Rebbe’s Kapital led by Rabbi Levi Goldstein and Birchas Kohanim from Rabbi Meir Gutnik.

Rabbi Shimon Hecht addressed the crowd to introduce the central feature of the rally. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pesukim, each participating school produced a 90-second film featuring student actors expressing how the foundational concepts of each Passuk are lived out in a child’s daily life. Following each video premiere, the entire school led the crowd in a powerful recitation of their respective Passuk.

The program also included a Sicha of the Rebbe introducing the Pesukim at the Lag B’Omer Parade fifty years earlier. The energy continued with a live performance of Rabbi Shmarya Katzen‘s 12 Pesukim Medley by Baruch Shalom Blesofsky and Mendy Kraus, and concluded with an entertaining show by stuntman Wacky Chad for all to enjoy.

Following the rally, the celebration spilled out into the streets as families enjoyed two massive Lag B’Omer Fairs. The expanded dual-fair format was a major hit, running smoothly as thousands of participants enjoyed the rides and carnival atmosphere. The second location specifically for younger children proved to be a wonderful addition, ensuring every age group had space to celebrate. Adding to the excitement, Klein’s Ice Cream sponsored free ices for everyone at the Crown Street fair, keeping the crowd refreshed throughout the afternoon.

The dual-fair initiative was a collaboration between the NCFJE, United Lubavitcher Yeshiva, and All My Children, with organizers thanking the students of Oholei Torah Mechina and Lubavitcher Yeshiva for staffing the events. The fairs were made free for all to join, thanks in part to generous members of the Crown Heights community and corporate sponsors MASK (Mothers and Fathers Aligned Saving Kids) and IDCC (Interborough Developmental & Consultation Center).
