Machon L’Yahadus Evening in Honor of Vov Tishrei

Machon L’Yahadus is hosting an inspiring evening this Thursday, in honor of Rebbetzin Chana on the occasion of her yahrzeit.

Machon L’Yahadus looks to Rebbetzin Chana, mother of the Rebbe, as the paradigm of Jewish womanhood and aims to educate its students in the spirit of her life.

The event, taking place in the dorm, is open to all women and girls. During one of the Rebbe’s visits to the dorm, Rabbi J.J. Hecht asked the Rebbe: “Since Machon is your mother’s home, when is she here.”

The Rebbe responded, “Since the girls are continuing in her footsteps, her presence is always here.”

The celebration begins with refreshments at 8:00 p.m. The program, starting at 8:30 p.m., features Mrs. Esther Sternberg, whose stories of personal encounters always inspire and invigorate her audience. Rabbi Shloma Majeski, principal of Machon L’Yahadus, will share an opening Dvar Torah. Current student Aleeza Feffer from Arizona will share her journey to Machon L’Yahadus, and Mrs. Nadia Schwartz, a recent alumna, will chair the evening.

Machon L’Yahadus, a school for young Jewish women at all points on their Jewish journey, is thriving. “A new, enthusiastic group of students has joined us this year, as well as many returning second-year students,” notes Rabbi Majeski. “Our devoted teaching and support staff create an atmosphere that facilitates growth, learning, and connection. And that connection continues long after the school year ends.

“During a recent visit, one of our alumnae – now a shlucha in Israel – shared that Machon L’Yahadus will always feel like home. She said that the profound knowledge and inspiration she gained during her three years here are the very foundation of her own home and her life’s work in shlichus with college students.”

A campus shlucha whose students were hosted at the dorm during last year’s Chabad on Campus Pegisha reached out to the school in June: “I hope it’s not too early to reserve spots for our girls to stay again at the dorm this Fall. A lot of the girls who came last year keep saying what a special time they had and how much they connected with the Machon L’Yahadus students. It was such a positive part of their Pegisha experience, and they all want to stay at this dorm this year!”

The evening will take place in the Machon L’Yahadus dorm at 1367 President Street. Anyone unable to attend in person can join via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/7235588657 (Password: Torah).
The suggested donation for the evening is $10. You can partner with Machon L’Yahadus in honor of Vov Tishrei, or for any other special occasion, by visiting womensyeshiva.com, calling the school at 718-552-2422, or emailing info@womensyeshiva.org.

Machon L’Yahadus is a division of the National Committee for the Furtherance of Jewish Education.
