Over 150 Women Begin New Round of Tanya in Five Towns
Rabbi Shais Taub’s weekly Tanya class at Chabad of the Five Towns began a new round, bringing together longtime students and newcomers.
by COLlive Editor · COLliveMore than 150 women attended the start of a new round of Tanya study with Rabbi Shais Taub this week at the Levi Yitzchak Library in Cedarhurst.
Rabbi Taub, scholar-in-residence at Chabad of the Five Towns, has taught the weekly women’s class for many years, completing Tanya from beginning to end several times.
The new round brings together first-time participants and returning students, some of whom have already completed two or more rounds with Rabbi Taub.
While recordings of earlier rounds remain available on YouTube and SoulWords.org, this round will not be available online. Rabbi Taub explained that the decision is intended to create a more personal experience for the women attending in person.
The class meets Mondays at 11:00 AM at the Levi Yitzchak Library, 564 Central Avenue, Cedarhurst.
Named in memory of Levi Wolowik a”h, the Levi Yitzchak Library serves as a center of Jewish learning and activity in the Five Towns. The Tanya class is among the many classes and programs offered by Chabad of the Five Towns under the leadership of Rabbi Zalman and Chanie Wolowik.
This week’s class covered the title page and the Compiler’s Preface. Next week, b’ezras Hashem, will begin Chapter 1.
