by COLlive Editor · COLliveOn Thursday, Hei Teves YTTL Montreal gym was transformed into a vibrant Hey Teves Center. To celebrate the “Day of the Victory of the Seforim,” the students participated in a unique, interactive book fair and exhibition that brought the history of our heritage to life.
Upon entering, the boys were met with a striking layout. One side featured a beautiful array of brand-new Seforim from Pardes Bookstore, giving talmidim a chance to expand their personal libraries. The other side offered a rare glimpse into history: a special exhibition of antique and unique Seforim from the Wolko Family Collection.
The event was far more than just a walkthrough. The gym walls were lined with trivia sheets, turning the room into an interactive learning zone. These challenged the boys on facts regarding the antique collection, as well as general knowledge regarding the significance of Hey Teves.
The atmosphere was buzzing as classes rotated through in 15-minute slots:
The Younger Grades viewed the antique holy books and heard fascinating explanations about their history. Many came prepared with their own money, excitedly purchasing their very own Seforim to take home.
The Older Grades took part in a challenging scavenger hunt. Armed with pen and paper, they scoured the walls to answer questions, with correct answers earning entry into a raffle for a Sefer of their choice! They also took the opportunity to purchase new books for their learning.
A Special Thank You to the team:
Rabbi Bresinger for organizing the entire event.
Yossi Wolko for sharing his amazing collection and explaining it to students, staff, and community members with such passion and excitement!
Rabbi Eliyahu’s 7th Grade Class, who showed true leadership by manning the tables, facilitating sales, and assisting other students with the trivia questions.
It was a beautiful display of Didan Notzach, proving that the true victory of Hey Teves is seeing the next generation excited about holding, learning, and owning Seforim.
