The first edition of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council’s new “Community” magazine is being distributed in time for Chol Hamoed and Yom Tov reading.

A new magazine published by the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council offers a closer look at the people, stories and work behind the CHJCC.

The inaugural issue of ‘Community’ was released in time for Chol Hamoed and the final days of Yom Tov, offering Crown Heights residents some fresh reading after the stack of Yom Tov magazines has already been turned through more than once.

Produced by eMeS Creative, the magazine features an interview with newly appointed CHJCC CEO Rabbi Mendel Marasow, a hard-hitting crossfire with members of the CHJCC board, the story of a community member who stepped forward to make a difference, and much more.

Also featured is a fascinating exchange between the Rebbe and New York City officials, including Mayor Ed Koch, shedding light on the role of the CHJCC in serving and representing the Crown Heights community.
“The magazine is a window into the work that happens every day at the CHJCC, throughout the year,” said Rabbi Marasow.

“There is still much work to be done, but there is also much to be proud of already, and this magazine highlights much of it.”
Crown Heights residents will have a copy delivered to their doorstep over Chol Hamoed. Others can read the digital edition online or print a copy for Yom Tov reading.
