Beis Medrash Chabad of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh Zal) concluded  the school year with a special banquet to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of the Talmidim in both Niglah and Chassidus.

The night was filled with inspiring talks from both Hanholah and talmidim reflecting on the value of consistent Torah learning and having specific goals in learning and Avodas Hashem. The Talmidim reflected upon the emphasis placed on making the most of their unique talents.

The highlight of the evening was the celebration and awards given to Talmidim finished the entire Tanya—Sefer Shel Benoni and for those who were tested on full mesechtos of Gemara! May they continue to grow in their learning! It was amazing to see so much learning happening, both in class and during their own downtime through the Mivtzah Torah initiative.

We would like to thank Rabbi Mendy Volfman who ran the Tanya Mivtzah and to Rabbi Ephraim Lerner for running the Gemara l’girsah Mivtzah.

We would also like to extend our Hakaras Hatov to the generous sponsors of each of these mivtzos!

Rabbi Elchonon Friedman, the Dean of our Yeshiva, remarked, “Seeing bochurim during all hours dedicated to committed learning and getting tested on 53 perokim Tanya and Mesechtos of Gemorah is a testament to the exceptional Roshei Yeshiva and Mashgichim in our Yeshiva. Who dedicate day and night to inspire and guide Bochurim to new heights in Torah and Chassidus.”

The event’s atmosphere was further enlivened by an engaging comprehensive ‘Jeopardy’ competition organized by Rabbi Moshe Aaron Giesinsky. It was a great way for everyone to look back on everything they learned this year and remember some of the best moments at the Yeshiva.

Pittsburgh Zal is a post Mesivta Zal made for Bochurim who have a deep desire to be frum, upright, Chassidishe Bochurim, dedicated to the Rebbe, his vision and way of life. We strive to provide a well rounded education both B’gashmiyus and B’ruchniyus to help bachurim advance in all aspects of their lives and in avodas Hashem.
