Sibu cops nab two teen motorcyclists for traffic offences

SIBU (Nov 30): Two 18-year-old motorcyclists were arrested on Nov 29 for committing offences under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act.

According to the police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, they were arrested during the Joint Operation against road gangs at Taman Permai, Jalan Bujang Suntong and Jalan Ramli Amit here on Nov 29 between 5pm and 3am.

“During the operation, a total of eight men were being inspected and 26 summonses were issued for various offences including driving without a license, structural modifications, exhaust modifications, no side mirrors, fancy licence plates, no license plates, and expired license,” he said.

He also said that five motorcycles were seized for documentation purposes.

He advised the members of the public to comply with the traffic laws.

Parents are also urged to monitor and be aware of their children’s activities to prevent them from engaging in illegal activities.
