KUCHING (Oct 24): Legendary pop yeh yeh singer Datuk Raden Jeffrydin Raden Imbromsoekaman is eager to deliver a special performance for his Sarawak fans during the upcoming Konsert Retro Pop Yeh Yeh scheduled for this Nov 30 as he credits their unique way of appreciating his live performances as his inspiration.

According to the Singapore-born singer, he fondly recalls that whenever he performs in Sarawak, he sensed a special aura from the audience while some fans have even gone on stage to present him with envelopes of money, a gesture he remembers warmly.

“I’ve never asked my fans for money, but gestures like that are incredibly touching to me. I see it as a sign of their deep love and appreciation for my music.

“Nevertheless I feel truly honoured to have such strong support and appreciation for my work here in Sarawak,” he told a press conference at the Stars on Stage here today.

While not revealing the number of songs that he will sing during the Konsert Retro Pop Yeh Yeh, promised his fans in Sarawak that he will perform songs which he identifies as strong favourites in Sarawak.

For him, it is important that he gives his fans in Sarawak the songs that they like while he also pointed out that he loves all his songs equally.

“I know fans in Sarawak love songs like Mas Mona, Termenung, Siti Haida and a few others and that’s why those tracks are always a must when I perform here in Sarawak.

I also want my fans to know that I’m capable of playing the songs I rarely perform live as well.

“All I need is a band to back me up, and I’ll happily play those songs if my fans want to hear them,” he said.

Mutiara Production House (M) Sdn Bhd is set to bring music enthusiasts back to the golden era of 1960s with the Konsert Retro Pop Yeh Yeh where Datuk Jeffrydin will play next month.
