MIRI (Sept 22): Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri will hold a ‘Bejalai Storytellers’ programme here taking place from Sept 24 to 25, slated for children of the kindergarten and primary level from Miri, Niah, and Baram districts.

A press release said this year’s annual programme will feature international storytellers, namely Australia’s Anna Manual and Indonesia’s Kak Budi Baik Budi.

“The programme is slated for children aged four to 12.

“The main objective of the programme is to expose them to storytelling activities, stimulate their interest in reading, and help them build self-confidence in their public speaking skills,” said Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri head (community engagement services) Dorithy Dela Lawrence.

She hopes that through the programme, the participants will understand the importance of continuing to explore their reading interest, learn, and share their experiences with others.
