Google Arts & Culture turns 15 — and gives its app a makeover

Over the past 15 years, Google Arts & Culture has partnered with more than 3,000 cultural institutions and artists across more than 90 countries. Working alongside this vibrant ecosystem, our goal has always been to preserve and make the world’s art and culture accessible to everyone, while creating experiences that educate, inspire, and delight.

Starting today, you can check out our refreshed Google Arts & Culture mobile app to mark this 15-year milestone. The updated experience helps you easily navigate our partners’ vast archives, including high-resolution artworks, archaeological 3D artifacts, fashion, performance art, sports, craft, culinary heritage, natural history, science, design, and nature.

A new way to ask and see

At the heart of this update is a new conversational search: ask any question about arts and culture, and get an answer that pairs insightful explanations with visuals and curated stories from partner archives.

Ask anything that sparks your curiosity — whether you're delving into ‘Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro,’ finding ‘impressionist museums in Paris,’ browsing ‘images captured by the Webb telescope,’ wondering ‘what are bento boxes,’ or simply taking a moment to admire ‘cats in art.’

Ask questions in your own words, and get visual, grounded answers.

An all-new homepage

The redesigned homepage brings together the entire app into a single feed built for quick daily discovery. Modular sections surface bite-sized cultural stories, daily highlights, and direct access to interactive features. This includes two new AI experiments: Chrono Look, which lets you virtually try on historical attire across different eras through sketches and realistic renderings, and Dial-an-Artist, an interactive tool for simulated conversations with historical figures about their work. Plus, check out an expanded City Guide, featuring 27 newly added destinations with local cultural landmarks and real-time cultural events.
