Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Wear Coordinated Looks in Rare Appearance Ahead of the Met Gala

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are so back. The stars of It Takes Two, Passport to Paris, and How the West Was Fun stepped out in matching looks (baggy pants, long scarves, black bags, and sunglasses) in New York City, a very rare appearance that comes just days ahead of the Met Gala.

Soooo, will Mary-Kate and Ashley be at the Met this year? It’s possible, but The Row founders stay pretty out of the spotlight and have shied away from public appearances in recent years. They have attended the Met Gala in the past: their last time on the star-studded red carpet was in 2019 for Camp: Notes on Fashion.

Reminder that this year’s Met Gala theme is Costume Art, which head curator Andrew Bolton tells Vogue will address “the centrality of the dressed body in the museum’s vast collection,” by pairing 5,000 years of art at The Met with garments from the Costume Institute.

Meanwhile, the dress code is “Fashion Is Art,” a twist on the theme that “invites guests to express their own relationship to fashion as an embodied art form” and “perfectly reflects the ethos of ‘Costume Art,’ which explores the ‘centrality of the dressed body’ through depictions and interpretations of the human form in the Met’s extensive collection.”

Would love to see Mary-Kate and Ashley on the carpet for this one, so fingers crossed.
