Katy Perry’s Giving Fencing Astronaut at the 2026 Met Gala
· CosmopolitanSpace enthusiast Katy Perry just landed on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art! The singer is one of the many celebs in NYC for the “Costume Art” Met Gala, and arrived on the carpet in a white gown with a headpiece that covered her entire face, by Stella McCartney. If it vaguely reminds you of her space era, you are not alone!

Katy actually co-chaired the Met Gala back in 2017, and is known for being one of the celebs who takes the theme and dress code very seriously. You won’t catch her showing up in a slip dress!
She told Vogue (via Paper) that her 2017 Met look (she wore John Galliano) was when “I felt like I belonged in fashion, finally.”
Previously she’d felt like a fashion outsider, explaining, “I didn't want to wear something that was designer just because it was designer. I only wore it if it spoke to me and if it helped represent who I was at the time and I was really this [Met Gala look] at that moment too. I felt like, Wow, I’m in sync with fashion and who I am.”
Of course, nothing beats the time she showed up dressed as a chandelier. Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast found shaking!
