Is Taylor Swift Changing Her Name to Taylor Kelce? What Sources Are Saying
· CosmopolitanWe’re officially one day out from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, and if the leaked schedule is anything to go by, the ceremony is going down at 5:30 p.m. on the arena floor of Madison Square Garden. So…is Taylor going to change her name from “Taylor Swift” to “Taylor Kelce” after she says “I Do?”
Yes…and no.
The Daily Mail reports that Taylor will 100 percent keep Swift for her professional career and stage name. However, she does (allegedly!) plan to legally change her name to Taylor Kelce and use that in her private life.
“Professionally, she'll always be Taylor Swift. The name has become one of the biggest brands in entertainment, and there's really no reason to change that,” a source says. “Personally, it's a different story. Taylor is very traditional, and when it comes to marriage, she'd love to take Travis' last name. She sees it as a meaningful step, especially knowing it would also be the family name their future children would share.”
Apparently, Tay is “not interested in hyphenating or trying to combine their names. Both she and Travis think there's something incredibly special and beautiful about sharing the same last name, even if the world will always know her professionally as Taylor Swift.”
Another source confirms this, saying, “She will take his last name when they wed, but for work she will still go by Taylor Swift. Jennifer Aniston did this when she married Brad Pitt.”
