Where and When to Stream ‘Practical Magic 2’

When can I watch Practical Magic 2 like, NOW now?

If it just didn’t sit right with you that Sally and Gillian Owens only think they broke the family curse at the end of Practical Magic, good news has come to those of us who wait. The legacy sequel Practical Magic 2 is here to definitively reverse the curse. Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock, Stockard Channing, and Dianne Wiest are all back, with Maisie Williams and Joey King joining as the next generation of Owens ladies and Lee Pace as the only male love interest you’re actually rooting for in this world. If you’re champing at the bit to start your autumn with the the best sisters who happen to be the coziest witches and the most literally hopeless romantics, here’s what you need to know to watch and/or stream Practical Magic 2.

The sequel hit theaters on September 10, 2026. If you’re feeling especially magical, and have access, some Regal Cinemas are playing the movie in 4DX. You’ll be able to smell the midnight margaritas and fly through the air with the Owens family. For the rest of us normies, our choices are Dolby sound or standard formatting.

When (and where) will Practical Magic 2 be streaming?

Practical Magic 2 is a Warner Brothers film, which means that it will eventually stream on HBO Max after the theatrical and subsequent VOD release.

As for when you can expect to see Practical Magic 2 on HBO Max, let’s use Supergirl as an example. As of September, the DC superhero film is one of the more recent additions to the platform. It was released at the end of June. So, if we guesstimate that it’ll take about three months, Practical Magic 2 should be streaming by or around the holiday season in December.

What else can I watch that’s like Practical Magic 2?

The obvious answer, of course, is the 1998 film Practical Magic. It’s streaming on HBO Max and ready for you to revisit–or watch for the very first time!

If you like your witch content extra cozy, my personal recommendation is any adaptation of Jill Murphy’s novel The Worst Witch, about a lovingly incompetent magic student named Mildred Hubble. There’s a 1986 movie that features the late Tim Curry in a truly bizarre cameo. It’s not streaming, however, so good luck. There are also two series adaptations of Mildred’s plight: one from the late 90s that’s streaming on Prime Video, and a more recent Netflix original starring Bella Ramsey.

If you’re interested in a movie marathon instead, you always have 20th century (yikes) classics like Teen Witch, Hocus Pocus, The Witches, and Halloween Town. I would also throw the animated film Kiki’s Delivery Service into the mix. If you’re feeling educational, check out Elizabeth Sankey’s 2024 documentary Witches. There are so many good witch movies, cozy or otherwise, as well as television shows about witchcraft out there it’s honestly an embarrassment of witches, I mean, riches.
