‘Love Island UK’ Is Trying to Fight "Format Fatigue" With a New Coupling

· Cosmopolitan

Love Island UK is coming back next week (so is Love Island USA—we're truly blessed), and apparently the show is switching things up to keep viewers interested.

Producers Amanda Stavri and Lewis Evans spoke to the Daily Mail about their plans, saying, "We've got to fight format fatigue and find new things to do. It's really important that Love Island stays unpredictable. Viewers find it exciting when you pull the rug from under their feet and surprise them. We come under scrutiny a lot, so we want to keep things fresh."

Apparently there will be a never-before-seen coupling in the first episode, but Casa Amor, Movie Night, and Snog, Marry, Pie will be back.

“We're going to play into that this year, and the first step is changing things. We're doing something that we've never done before in the history of Love Island,” the producers said. “We're going to take a big risk. We're taking big risks, and we hope it pays off. We're going to look at the challenges, which will be different. There are also more beds, and with more beds comes more bombshells.”

Sooooo ready. Oh, and in case you didn’t notice, the entire cast was announced, so head below to meet them. Reminder: The UK reality series returns for its 13th season in just a few days on June 1, and Maya Jama is returning as host.
